Grand Challenge Launch event

Join the launch event for our next Grand Challenge of Leadership! On November 28th, we cordially invite the FLI Community and everyone who is interested in our work to an inspiring evening. To kick off the FLI Grand Challenge for 2019, four thought leaders will share their ideas about artificial intelligence and future of work. 

Our featured speakers are:

Associate Professor for Political Data Science, TUM

The research of Simon Hegelich focuses on the connection between political science and data science. He will talk about general AI and share his ideas on how to teach computers contradictoriness to reach a new level of artificial intelligence. 

Head of Innovation at the Siemens AI Lab

Bernd „Benno“ Blumoser co-founded the Siemens AI Lab in late 2017. Open Innovation & Networks, Trend Scouting & Foresight, as well as the Development of the Corporate AI Strategy are key areas which he influenced and still thrives to drive within Siemens. He will talk about “The Siemens AI Lab – Catalyzing meaningful solutions of industrial AI” 

Founder at Luminovo

Sebastian Schaal is Founder at Luminovo, where he works on B2B deep learning projects and building tools to automate common deep learning workflows. He graduated in Electrical and Computer Engineering from TU Munich and is an alumnus of the CDTM. He obtained a second M.Sc. from Stanford University. 

Co-Founder Future of Leadership Initiative

Sebastian Morgner is an expert on the subject of leadership and strategy design. He is fascinated by how to bring objectives and strategies to life in ways that motivate people to act. He is an expert for strategy activation. He will talk about his ideas on how the rise of artificial intelligence will impact leadership. 

Director Plug and Play Tech Center

Dr. Claudius Jablonka co-founded the Munich Office of Plug and Play Ventures. Plug and Play Munich is home to industry-leading open-innovation platforms in retail, health, and insurance technology. Before he worked as chief of staff for notebooksbillliger.de and was part of the management team at the Center for Digital Technology and Management, where he pursued a Ph.D. about “internationalization of startups”. 

Executive Director Future of Leadership Initiative

Laura oversees the general operations of FLI. She is a social scientist with an interdisciplinary academic background reaching from business research to sustainability science. Before joining FLI, she was a member of the Management Team at the Center For Digital Technology and Management (CDTM).

Location and Evening Agenda

The evening is hosted in one of  Europe’s most vibrant startup hubs: The Munich Plug & Play Tech Center at Balanstraße 73, Haus 10, 81541 München. We invite everyone to join as of 6 pm for a informal networking before starting with the official program at 7:15 pm.

6:00 pm – Opening doors & networking opportunity
6:30 pm – Introduction to Plug and Play & tour through the facilities (optional) 
7:15 pm – Official Program Start

  • Welcome address by Dr. Claudius Jablonka, Director Plug & Play Tech Center
  • Introduction to FLI and Grand Challenge

7:30 pm – Talks by FLI thought leaders and panel discussion
9:00 pm – Further networking opportunity

The Grand Challenge Launch Event kicks off an interactive co-creation journey in the upcoming twelve months.

In 2019, the collaborative and open FLI Think Tank will explore how the rise of intelligence machines will impact the future of leadership, work, and collaboration. With a mix of onsite and virtual formats, we will explore the edges of state-of-the-art technology and discuss their impact on industries and organizations. The goal of the Grand Challenge is to derive guiding principles and tools how organizations can master the transition towards a new era with intelligent machines on the rise.
